We were approached by an advertising agency with an international advertiser. The advertiser wanted a campaign without having to rely on spoken language, models and actors. CGI was seen to be a good solution. A trend we see more often: making global assets from one basic commercial.
Since the advertising agency had little or no experience with creating 3D animations, Misters was asked to work in an advisory role.
Not only the production process was new to the advertising agency, but in the quotation phase this production process also turned out to require a speciality that differed from a ‘traditional production’. Misters assessed multiple treatments from animation studios and provided more clarity on quotes, lead times and assumptions that varied strongly. Together with the advertising agency we created a well-considered questionnaire and fed it back to the animation studios. With their answers to these concrete questions, we got insight into why their approach, quotations and lead times differed from each other.
After this short and intensive phase we also gave the advertising agency some tools that allowed them to supervise this production very satisfactorily.
